Compound is an algorithmic, autonomous interest rate protocol built for developers, to unlock a universe of open financial applications. Users can supply crypto assets to earn interest or borrow assets instantly without traditional intermediaries.
Interest rates are determined algorithmically based on supply and demand for each asset. When users supply assets, they receive cTokens which represent their share of the pool and automatically accrue interest. The protocol is governed by COMP token holders.
